Tips for your visit

We look forward to your visit

Below are several tips for your visit to our museum. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you still have any questions. Simply e-mail us at museum@schloss-fuerstenberg.com

Ticket validity

Each ticket purchased entitles you to one-off entry on the date of purchase. If you leave the museum, for example to enjoy a break on the beautiful panoramic terrace of the Lottine café & restaurant, please have your ticket initialled at the counter first. You can then continue your visit to the museum afterwards.

Rucksacks, bags and jackets

Our cloakroom area has lockers that take a 2-euro coin as a returnable deposit.

Visiting the exhibition with children

The museum is a particularly exciting place for children thanks to the many multimedia and hands-on exhibits as well as the large visitors’ workshop. In the latter, you can even paint some porcelain and have it sent home for you as a memento of your museum visit (subject to a fee).

Children’s trail

For younger visitors, the museum offers a children’s trail, which enables little ones to independently explore the museum, discover the story of how the manufactory began and learn about the various porcelain epochs. To help them on their way, a special, lovingly designed trail booklet can be purchased from the ticket counter for 2 euros – a fantastic souvenir of the museum visit. In this, the children will meet Anna the lady pug as their guide. As a cute little porcelain figure, Anna has hidden in several places around the museum and gives the children puzzles to solve.

Pets

Visitors are not permitted to bring pets to the museum (with the exception of guide dogs). There are no facilities for looking after your pet.

Peckish?

Our Lottine café & restaurant is located but a stone’s throw from the SCHLOSS FÜRSTENBERG MUSEUM and eagerly awaits your visit. As an added bonus, the large sun terrace offers you spectacular views of the Weser Valley. As an afternoon treat, we recommend the Fürstenberger Kaffeeklatsch – coffee served with our local speciality, a slice of Fürstenberger Sahnetorte cream gateau – on FÜRSTENBERG porcelain of course.

Photography

Photographs can be taken in the exhibition for non-commercial purposes.

Accessibility

The SCHLOSS FÜRSTENBERG MUSEUM is largely fully accessible. Only the special exhibition rooms are not fully accessible due to the historic building structure. The main exhibition rooms and visitors’ workshop are easily accessible by anyone with restricted mobility and families with pushchairs. Persons accompanying the severely disabled receive free entry subject to a relevant note on the disability ID card.

Souvenirs

The Manufactory Outlet of the porcelain manufacturer FÜRSTENBERG is located just by the SCHLOSS FÜRSTENBERG MUSEUM. This offers not only the complete FÜRSTENBERG collection, but also an extensive range of exclusive table linen and home accessories. Be enticed by the variety and exceptional quality of the FÜRSTENBERG porcelain! Just see our FÜRSTENBERG Online-Shop already now.
