Concert Lower Saxony Music Days
There is hardly any other musical genre in which one can come closer to the thought of a composer than with songs. Because two arts come together here: Poetry and music enter into a close relationship through the setting to music. Especially for the French song the baritone François Le Roux gives a lieder workshop for selected young singers from the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover. At the final concert they present their exquisite programme.
The baritone François Le Roux is one of the most important French singers. In addition to his international career, he has devoted more than twenty years to researching and teaching the French art song and has founded his own institute for this purpose: The Académie Francis Poulenc is based in Tours on the Loire. But it is not only there that one can enter into a close relationship with French music. This year the lieder workshop of the Lower Saxony Music Days is designed by François Le Roux. Young singers from the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover work in creative seclusion at the Holzminden Music School for three days. The focus is on the works of the French composer Francis Poulenc (1899 - 1963).
At the final concert of the Liedwerkstatt, the audience will discover Francis Poulenc and other French composers and immerse themselves in the wonderful lightness and elegance of the French art song.
