Court society’s love of colour and rural life not only resulted in flower painting blossoming in the 18th century but also in the painting of birds and fowl. The colourful hen coop and the flock of native songbirds inspired specialists such as porcelain painter Johann Christof Kind, who worked in Fürstenberg from 1751 to 1798 and was known as one of the most skilful painters of birds. This course is dedicated to the special topic of natural bird painting based both on historic models and modern templates.
