Special porcelain objects

The MUSEUM SCHLOSS FÜRSTENBERG is responsible for collecting, preserving and documenting the objects that have been produced by the porcelain manufacturer FÜRSTENBERG since its establishment to the present day. Over the decades, this has resulted in the world’s most extensive and complete range of FÜRSTENBERG porcelain. Nowhere else can visitors gain such a comprehensive picture of the multi-faceted, often astonishing porcelain from Lower Saxony’s only porcelain manufacturer.

It is naturally not possible to exhibit such a huge collection of around 20,000 objects in its entirety. By changing the items in the permanent exhibition, but even more so through the establishment of a display room, visitors can get an idea of the sheer size of our collection.

A selection of the items can also be viewed online in the object portal museum-digital. This long term project is being undertaken with the support of the Freundeskreis Fürstenberger Porzellan e. V. (Friends of Fürstenberg Porcelain)Richard-Borek-Stiftung Braunschweig (Richard-Borek Foundation Brunswick), Die Braunschweigische Stiftung (Brunswick Foundation), Landschaftsverband Südniedersachsen (South Lower Saxony Regional Association) and Museumsinitiative Ostwestfalen-Lippe e.V. (East Westphalia-Lippe Museum Initiative).
